Project Description

The library, especially the branch library, has evolved into a space for community communication where books have been pushed to the periphery in favor of computer access. In response my library removes the book completely and instead creates a place for discovery, knowledge creation, and teaching. Postulating that an accessible building needn’t be physically porous the building is organized as a compound and imagined as an oasis. A safe space for the incubation of ideas. While referencing the storage yard typology both with the outer perimeter the interior buildings form attempts to navigate the two scales, industrial and residential, that converge at the building site.
