Architectural Design: First Year
The study is a space of quiet contemplation and appreciation. Designed for a collector of pens, the environment encases the user with the objects of their passion. Aspects of the pen are transformed into the overall form as well as the interior. The surfaces react to the procession towards the central working space by guiding and accepting the uncontrollable nature of ink. The ceiling begins to drip down to physically represent and imply ink moving around overhead. The ground shifts from a sullied surface at the entrance to a ramp which cleans ones tread to the destination at the center where ink again soils the ground. The experience is rhythmic and engages the user in the ritual of using ink.
