Architectural Design: New Haven Test

Project Description

The Domestic Hearth as the symbol and identity of the domestic life is in a state of transition. The ubiquity of mass social media has created a condition where the digital identity of the individual is gaining dominance over the physical collective engagement. The daily routine of getting ready and getting un-ready has also created a condition where the hearth, once a point of convergence for the family and community, must now be challenged to engage a more global context through our new state of individuality.

The minimal dwelling attempts to unite the functional, social and spiritual necessities into a modern day domestic space that looks toward itself as it seeks a larger global, digitally connected context.
