Las Vegas Air

Project Description

This project investigates the role of air in architecture, and its ability to not only permit novel forms and technologies, but aesthetic experiences. A pneumatic shell filled with nested inflated volumes houses a series of restaurants and flavor labs that circulate scents throughout the building. The space is a public ‘gift’ to Las Vegas, not only creating an exotic amenity, but also handling foodwaste recycling from the nearby casinos, hotels and buffets. The forms derive from the material logic of pneumatic structures, and visually confuse visitors, heightening the pleasure and disorientation of the flavor wonderland.
