Material Formation in Design
The essence of natural beauty lies in its generative purity - the process of formation is untouched, uninterrupted by humans, who can only engage in artful, sectional revelation after the fact. I see great beauty in the section of geographical stratification - in layers and layers of time built upon one another sheared and penetrated by subliminal force at an enormous scale. Instead of replicating the phenomenon itself, I elected to adopt the process in order to control the purity of its formation, and at the same time, establish an agenda to generate iterations that can be endlessly reproduced and further transformed. The final production is a juxtaposition of layered porosity that can either perform as an architectural surface or an architectural volume.
