Piero’s Other Method and Brook Taylor’s Method
This project for the Midterm was a comparison between two historical perspective projection techniques; Piero Della Francesca and Brook Taylors’ methods.
The first series of projections are along the central horizontal axis, where Taylor’s method was employed, with the projection point moving in relation to the projected object at each instance. The final instance of the projection was then treated as a 3D object from which to project 7 more images, which are shown above and below the horizontal central axis. Each of these was projected from a new position around the object (indicated by the stations around the circular construction line) onto the planes with the notational markings. The newly projected objects were reconstructed using these projected points.
