Shapes of Time

Shapesoftime poster
This two-and-a-half day event at the Yale School of Architecture brings together an interdisciplinary group of artists, architects, curators, scholars, and scientists to investigate the role time plays in their respective fields and in their individual scholarly and creative pursuits. The title hints at the diverse temporal imaginaries in various intellectual fields and artistic media; contemporary conversations about environmental uncertainty and deep time; as well as differing ways time is conceptualized, visualized, and experienced. By taking a trans-disciplinary approach to the ways in which time manifests in different cultures and religions around the globe, Shapes of Time foregrounds time as medium and method. The symposium is convened by Anthony Acciavatti and Eeva-Liisa Pelkonen of the Yale School of Architecture together with Morgan Ng of the History of Art Department
